What is fuel?

Fuel may consist of the following:

Solids

Wood, coal, rubber, plastics, paper, etc. The heavier and thicker the material the slower it burns. Lighter objects like paper and sawdust ignite and burn more quickly than heavier objects.


Liquids

Paraffin and petrol are flammable liquids. Around the home cooking oil, nail varnish remover, oils, some paints and glues are also flammable.
